Book reviews

I love books and I though I might share some of the books I have enjoyed recently:

Edward Rutherford (Sarum, Russka, London, The Dublin Foundation)
Really enjoyed these books they are historical fiction, which means he takes real events and portrays them through the eyes of fictious characters. Rutherford has a way of bringing history alive and making it real and exciting, reading Russka a few years ago is pretty much what got me in to History.

Robert Ludlum (Bourne Identity, Scorpio Illusion)
Bourne Identity the book is 100 times better than the movie. Ludlum keeps you on the edge of your seat and it has more twists than a 60’s roller-disco. I cannot rave enough about Ludlum great suspense/thriller writer.

Lance Armstrong (It is not about the Bike, Every second counts)
Two part biography of Lance Armstrong, these books are really inspirational and challenging, the guy has an amazing story and he tells it really honestly. If you do not know him he is 5 time (I think) Tour de France winner and cancer survivor phenomenal athlete, amazing man and a inspirational story.

Brother Yun (Heavenly Man)
Disclaimer: DO NOT READ THIS BOOK IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE CHALLENEGED IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD!!!!
This book is amazing, Brother Yun is a leader in the Chinese House Church Movement he has been tortured and imprisoned several times and his faith is amazing. Brother Yun actually lives the scriptures he dwells on them and mediates on them, You have to read this book.

Charles Colsen (Kingdoms in Conflict)
I have not finished this book yet but so far it has been really good. It is about Church and Politics and the Churches role in the State, really relevant at the moment (Civil Unions Bill etc.) He shares lots of good stories from Ernest Hemmingway to William Wilberforce, from Bonhoffer to Nietzsche. It is a really good summary of what has happened to the Western Church in the twentieth Century and how it got to where it is. Fascinating read.

Anyway there are many other books I have enjoyed recently but these are the ones I have read and would recommend to anyone. If you have read any of these books and want to comment or have any other books you recomend please add to the list, i am always looking for new books to read.
